SAGAING DIVISION – According to the Yinmarbin district battalion 16, they attacked the junta council troops stationed in Shwe Mu Taw monastery, Salingyi town, Sagaing division, on September 1.
It was known that they (the comrades from the Yinmarbin district battalion 16) attacked the combination of junta council soldiers and police stationed in Shwe Mu Taw monastery with around 30 troops, at around 9 p.m.
Bo Auk Swe, the commanding officer of the Yinmarbin district battalion 16 mentioned that “we attacked the junta council camp in Shwe Mu Taw monastery. It was one out of six camps where the junta council troops were mainly stationed. It was known that they (the junta council troops) were from the Northwestern Military Region (Monywa). Even though we tried to capture their camp, we retreated, as the junta council reinforcements arrived.”
During the attack, four junta council troops were said to have been killed and many troops were severely injured. But there was no injuries to the PDF comrades.
That attack was jointly carried out by the Yinmarbin district battalion 16, Thaman Kyar company 3.
Similarly, on August 24, a police man assigned to guard at the Wanbao company gate, surrendered to the Yinmarbin district battalion 16, Thaman Kyar company 3, along with two weapons and ammunition.
