TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The terrorist junta soldiers torched the civilians’ houses in Let Ku Village of Palaw Township, according to locals.
The fascist junta forces committed arson attacks in Let Ku Village at around 4:00 p.m., on September 15, and it was initially reported that four civilians’ houses near Yat Nge monastery, at the entrance of the village, were set on fire.
“The junta forces burned the houses under the allegation of having connection with People’s Defence Forces (PDF). The fighting broke out in Let Ku Village all day long,” said a local man.
The extent of the damage of burned houses were still being investigated.
The murderous junta forces in two columns invaded Hmaw Kyaung Village in Let Ku Village Tract two days ago, and they abducted locals as hostages and detained them at the monastery in the village.
Those terrorist junta forces carried offensive attacks in Let Ku Village by using civilians as human shields, and the skirmishes occurred with the Revolutionary Forces since the morning of September 15.
“The terrorist junta soldiers had also used civilians as hostages in the clashes in Pi Tat Village. We had to attack the atrocious junta soldiers with great care in those situations. It was really the most difficult time for us,” a comrade on the battleground explained the situation during the battle.
It was said that the terrorist junta forces stationed at Pala police station, launched artillery attacks over Let Ku Village Tract, at around 11:00 a.m., on September 15.
It was also reported that the fascist junta soldiers captured some villagers and detained them at the monastery in the village, and some residents were running away from their homes in advance.
There were 1,277 households in Let Ku Village Tract, according to the 2014 census data.
There was a seven hours long encounter between Myeik District Battalion (1) and the junta army at Pi Tat Village in To Village Tract on September 11.
