KAREN STATE – The junta council has been firing heavy artillery shells and launching an offensive to restore Tower Camp Hill at Lat Khat Hill, Myawaddy Township, said the residents.
Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and alliances seized that camp, but the junta forces are trying to recapture it since Tuesday morning (July 25).
“The junta troops are trying to seize the camp which KNLA alliances seized. The launch of attacks is heard ten miles from Myawaddy,” said a resident.
On July 21 at around 5 a.m., KNLA coalition forces seized that camp and confiscated one communication radar, 16 60MM shells, six front-mines, nine car mines, two jammers, two mine detectors, one machine gun ammunition, two 60MM ammunitions for commando, nine 40MM shells, four G3 cartridges, two MA cartridges, eight military helmets, three RPG ammunitions, one RPG shell, 1,880 7.62 bullets, and 302 5.56 bullets.
