MON STATE- The National Unity Government (NUG)’s Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday (December 3) that it has awarded 4 million kyats to Corporal Min Naung from Khoza Police Station, based in Ye Township, Mon State who defected from the junta regime, fully armed.
It was reported that the corporal no longer wanted to continue serving under the Military Council and thus came into the legal fold with a G3 rifle, two magazines, and about 100 cartridges on November 25th. The fully armed corporal defected to Company-3 of the Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF), Dawna Column.
The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of the NUG government has awarded 4 million kyats to the members of the Military Council who turned to the legal fold.
“For now, we have reported to the NUG and proceed as usual,” an official from YGF told the media, regarding the military defector.
In addition, the Dawna Column would provide protection and care to those who defected from the junta regime and give them the rights they deserved, explained the YGF spokesperson.
The remaining policemen, soldiers, and staff under the Military Council were urged to defect and take refuge in the People Embrace in time and informed that when they surrendered during the battle, they would be subject to the laws of captivity.
Therefore, if anyone wants to defect from the junta regime, the allied forces such as the Dawna Column, Ye Guerrilla Force (YGF); Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), Ye Administrative Force (YAF), Yay Defence Force (YDF), All Burma Student Democratic Front (ABSDF) Battalion (1), and MSRO troops, as announced in the statement.
