MON STATE -Locals report that most departmental offices in Lamaing town in Ye Township, Mon State, on which martial law has been imposed, have been closed and their employees transferred to the corresponding offices in Ye Township.
Only one office of the Ministry of Health is currently open, after the junta regime gradually closed its offices in recent months due to the critical situation in the region.
A resident of Lamaing said that because of the frequent shootings, he not only has to fear for his own safety, but also for his money, as locals have to travel to Ye Township to conduct their official business due to the closure of the offices.
According to reports, police forces from Lamaing Police Station have also been moved to the military compound because they were afraid of the raids by the revolutionary forces, locals said.
A non-CDM employee, who does not want to give his name, said they have to worry about their safety as they have to travel all the way to Ye Township to the offices because of the closure of the department offices in Lamaing.
On the other hand, on June 13, the junta regime instructed all departments to report to the Southeast Command to obtain a permit when they travel across the border.
Ye Township in Mon has become a small part of the territory controlled by the revolutionary forces after the junta’s battalions, military bases and departmental offices were frequently attacked during the coup.
