KARENNI STATE – The Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) has issued a statement, strongly condemning the junta council’s bombardment of the Munglai Hkyet refugee camp in Laiza, Kachin State.
On the night of October 9, the military council bombed the Munglai Hkyet internally displaced persons’ camp area where at least 30 refugees, including children were killed, and about 60 more were injured, according to a Kachin news source.
The KSCC strongly condemned this inhumane attack on the refugee camp by the military council which killed innocent civilians including children, elderly and women sheltering at the camp. This act violates international laws and human rights, and is totally unacceptable for those trying to achieve true peace and federal democracy, stated KSCC.
KSCC expressed its condolences for the losses and suffering of the people at the Munglai Hkyet camp.
The KSCC also announced that they will continue to fight until the fall of military dictators and dictators who are killing the lives of innocent people to stay in power.
