MYANMAR – The National Unity Government (NUG) announced on January 9 that nearly 900 civilians were killed in airstrikes by the military council within three years of the coup. As of December 31, 2023, the junta council launched almost 600 airstrikes.
According to the announcement, at least 70 religious buildings and more than 50 schools were damaged due to airstrikes.
According to media reports, 22 civilians were killed in airstrikes by the military council on January 7.
