SHAN STATE – There was a shooting incident between the junta militias (pyu saw htee) themselves in Laukkai Township at 5:00 p.m. on Monday (October 9), according to the locals.
There was a series of shootings near the Tonechainyoneli hotel, and more than 50 gunshots were heard during the exchange of fire, reported a resident.
“A shooting of junta militias was heard at about 5:00 p.m. in Laukkai town. They were firing from above and below the buildings and also chasing with cars. There were more than 50 rounds of gunshots. We had to hide in our houses. The junta militias dominate the town in Laukkai. They are like the bodyguards of the gambling bosses. They wear military uniforms and police uniforms so that they could hold guns,” he continued.
Recently, as there are military tensions between the junta council and the ethnic armed forces in Laukkai, the junta force is making military preparations and increasing security.
