NORTHERN SHAN STATE – The Kokang Army (MNDAA) issued a warning to Chinese citizens in Laukkai on Saturday (November 18) to return to their country as soon as possible for their safety.
The MNDAA, which informed the public about the takeover battle for Laukkai Township, issued a notice to civilians on Saturday (November 18) and warned them as follows.
MNDAA warns the residents in Laukkai to distance themselves from the military council’s administrative department and the military bases as soon as possible.
Since the entire area around Laukkai is a battlefield, civilians are informed not to move around in order to protect themselves from the military council’s attack.
It is mentioned that the above notices should be strictly followed, and those who do not take heed will be responsible for their own actions.
MNDAA has announced to re-occupy the Laukkai region. Since “Operation 1027” launched on October 27, the MNDAA has been conquering the military council camps and reportedly seized 152 camps in more than three weeks of offensive. The Ta’ang Army (TNLA), which is participating in the operation, also captured nearly 40 military council camps. In total, since the start of the operation, the alliance forces have captured about 190 military council camps.
