TANINTHARYI DIVISION – An official of Launglon Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) announced that nine junta forces were killed in the attack on a terrorist junta vehicle and Maungmakan Police Station in Launglon Township.
On February 15 around 4 p.m., revolutionary forces blasted a car carrying terrorist junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants at Yechaung intersection in Kyauknimaw Village, Launglon Township, killing three junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces on the spot and it is said that two more among the injured also died.
On February 25 at around 10:30 p.m., revolutionary forces attacked Maungmakan Police Station with mortars, damaging two dormitories next to the dorm of the station chief and many junta forces were also killed or injured. At 2:30 a.m., a truck from junta infantry 104 arrived, picked up four dead soldiers and nine injured soldiers then drove back into the base of infantry 104 overnight.
“We are updating the news of the attack after finding out about junta casualties. During the attack at Yechaung intersection, two junta forces were killed in the car and one was killed on the road, a total of three deaths. The injured were dragged to Kyauknimaw junta base. Two more were killed there while receiving treatment there three days later. During the attack on Maungmakan Police Station, a truck a truck came from Infantry 104 and picked up 13 at 2:30 a.m. on the same day. Four were dead and nine were heavily wounded,” said the official from Launglon Township PDF.
At present around 40 more junta soldiers from infantry 104 have been reinforced at Maungmakan Police Station. Junta navy ships are also anchored near Maungmakan Village and there are also junta sentries placed near Launglon.
