TANINTHARYI DIVISION – According to an accountable person of Launglon People Defense Force (LLPDF), LLPDF attacked Maungmakan region police station, in Launglon township, Tanintharyi division. As a result, the police station buildings were damaged.
On February 25 at 10:30 p.m., the comrades from LLPDF attacked Maungmakan region police station where the junta council troops were stationed and the two sides engaged in an exchange of fire. During the shoot-out, the two sides mutually fired the heavy weapons.
The heavy weapons fired by the revolutionary comrades landed over the dormitory of the police station officer and as a result, the officer dormitory and the adjoining dormitory were said to have been damaged. The penetrating cry can be heard in the police station. But the number of the junta;s casualties was not yet known.
During the skirmish, the junta council’s military used water vessel and fired three rounds of heavy weapons over the skirmish place to reinforce. One of the shellings landed over Kanyone monastery and one building was damaged. The skirmish lasted for around 30 minutes and the revolutionary forces managed to retreat successfully.
The accountable person of LLPDF mentioned that “the number of the junta council dogs’ (junta council troops) death was still under investigation. The day after being attacked, 40 more junta council troops were reinforced to the police station. We heard the cry from the police station on the night of February 25. The number of the junta council casualties was still under investigation. The junta council’s water vessel which reinforced in the skirmish stopped and checked the fishing boats in the sea.”
That attack was carried out by Launglon People Defense Force Zone 1 – Shwe Thaung Yan platoon and LLPDF also issued a warning to the civilians to live and travel with military awareness.
