TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The junta forces and Pyu Saw Htees stationed near Kyauk Ni Maw Village, Laung Lone Township, were attacked on Wednesday (October 4) at around 5 a.m., resulting in the deaths of at least three junta troops, according to local PDF reports.
Local alliances fired heavy artillery shells at nearly 20 junta soldiers, and both sides exchanged fire for over two hours. This attack resulted in the deaths of three junta council soldiers and injuries to several others.
During the clashes, the junta navy fleet continuously fired heavy artillery shells as reinforcements, and the shells landed inside the village.
Civilians are fleeing, but the extent of damages and casualties couldn’t be confirmed. In Laung Lone Township, junta camps, police stations, and inspection gates have been frequent targets of attacks, resulting in casualties on both sides since the coup.
In Tanintharyi Division, local research organizations report at least 50 clashes between the junta forces and local alliances.
