TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The locals said that the junta troops carried out strict security checks and extorted various products from the vendors in Launglon Township.
It’s been reported that military council troops were conducting a strict security checks at Htantaw in the village of Innwon on the Dawei- Launglon highway in the morning of June 17.
He said that since before 6 a.m., on June 17, about 20 junta troops have taken up positions there and were checking the National Registration Card and phones of each passerby.
In addition, the vendors were being interrogated and extorted the items.
“If it’s fish seller, they extorted fish, if it’s wood car, extorted wood, and if it’s rice, take a bag of rice. They won’t even spare durian fruit seller. They said “we can take it, right?” and just took it. The vendors are going to lose their money,” said a local.
It’s been reported that at around 9 a.m., the military council troops entered the Innwon village.
Similarly, these days along the Dawei-Launglon road, the military council troops are doing casual checks, and in the city, they are checking almost every day at the intersection of Nyaung Pin Road and in front of the Launglon (B.E.H.S) School.
On June 13, military council soldiers and policemen checked passers-by near the entrance sign to Launglon town and arrested some nearby residents.
