TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The locals said that junta checked and abducted some pedestrians at Innwon bridge, on the Dawei-Launglon road on July 26.
A local said that on July 26 at 6 a.m., about 20 junta soldiers came with three cars, then they blocked and checked mobile phones of passerbys at Innwon bridge. At that time, they blocked a car carrying ice from Minyat village, abducted the driver and two car attendants with their hands tied at the back.
“The junta soldiers abducted people and seized the car also. That car was going to Dawei to buy ice. Maybe they were abducted because of saw, which is used as ice breaker,” said a local. The locals guessed that there would be more abductees. It is unknown where those abductees were taken to.
Junta soldiers and polices reportedly conducted inspection there till 10 a.m. Junta blocked the roads and inspected civilians almost every day in Launglon downtown and inside the town.
On July 26 morning, junta soldiers and polices also checked pedestrians at the Nyaungpin junction, Launglon Township.
