SHAN STATE – It has been reported that three civilians were injured and one died because of the explosion of heavy weapons fired into Nantphatka Village in Kutkai Township of northern Shan State, by junta troops on Friday (September 1) about 2 p.m.
A local resident said that the three injured civilians were sent to Kutkai Hospital, adding that the junta troops fired into the village without any ongoing battle.
“They fired even though there was no battle. There are now nearly ten civilian casualties as well as damages to houses in Nantphatka Village (due to junta shellings),” said the Kutkai local.
According to local news sources, there have been at least three cases of junta shells exploding in the village within one week and there were two deaths and six injured people, including the casualties on Friday.
Junta heavy weapons landed and exploded in a house in Nantphatka Village on August 29 and another explosion on August 30 inside the village killed a 14-year-old girl and injured three men.
