SAGAING DIVISION – According to the locals, over 5000 civilians were being forced to flee as the fascist junta council troops launched offensive attacks into the northern part of Wetlet township, Sagaing division.
The locals mentioned that the brutal junta troops stationed in Hla Taw police station launched offensive attacks into Shwegyin village at around 6 a.m. on August 30. After that, they (junta council troops) entered Kyay Thi Kone village through Ponnar village.
That junta council column murdered three men from Kyikan village on August 26. They also raped and murdered a woman.
A local mentioned that “that junta council column consisted of around 90 troops. They ransacked and devastated the villages. The civilians from the villages they devastated had been forced to flee.”
Due to the offensive attacks by that column, over 5000 civilians from Yintaw, Sintawea (East), Sintawea (West), Sai Naing Gyi, Sai Naing Lay, Shwe Taung, Htan Gyi and Sint Bar villages have been forced to flee.
