SAGAING DIVISION – It has been reported that Wetlet township Public’s strike steering committee provided free medical treatment to internally displaced people (IDP) in Wetlet township, Shwe Bo district, Sagaing division, as per the request of IDP.
Over 500 civilians had been fleeing to the forests for nearly one month as the fascist junta council troops repaired the Mandalay-Shwebo- Myitkyina-Sagaing railway in Wetlet township.
Mr. Nyein Chan Naing from the medical team mentioned that “we provided free medical treatment as they (IDP) asked for help. Catching colds and suffering hypertension are mostly occurred. I think it could be because of their stressful lives.”
The civilians from more than ten villages in Wetlet township were forced to flee due to the junta council troops who were repairing the railway. As IDP requested help, the members of Wetlet township Public’s Strike steering committee provided free medical treatment.
During the treatment, they discovered catching cold and some injuries commonly occurred in the children and for the elderly, they mostly suffer hypertension. They gave medical treatments to over 60 people with a group of six volunteers within 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mr. Nyein Chan Naing added.
As it’s been one month that they (IDP) have been fleeing, they are facing difficulties in rations, shelters and medications.
On September 4, the brutal junta council troops launched offensive attacks to the places bordering Wetlet township, by dividing into six columns.
