SAGAING DIVISION- According to the Kawlin Revolution – KR group, 19 people who were arrested by junta troops were found dead in the area locally called 5 miles.
On January 7, in Kawlin District, Wuntho Township, 19 corpses of the civilians captured and killed by the violent junta council army were found at 5 miles (local name). The deceased were 17 men and 2 women, and only Ms. Khin Sein, a rice broker from Kawlin Town, Mr. Thein Htay, Mr. Hein Zaw, Mr. Tun Zaw Hlaing, and Mr. Nga Tun were identified, while the others were not.
On January 5, at Laybo Village (locally called Emerald Pagoda region) near junta Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 120, rice traders and drivers were arrested by the terrorist military council. The detainees were taken into the LIB-120 and cars were also taken away. The rice bags were sent to a mill in Wuntho to be polished and taken back.
After that, the merchants and the drivers were killed and their bodies were dumped. Gunshot wounds were found on the chest and head of the dead bodies, and 5.56 caliber bullet shells were also found near the bodies. In addition, Kawlin Revolution – KR reported the deceased were found with their ankles and hands tied behind their backs.
