MON STATE – Junta council soldiers fired heavy artillery shells at villages in Thaton Village, destroying four civilians’ houses and forcing over 300 civilians to flee.
On January 10, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., the junta artillery battalion 402 fired five shells. Among them, two exploded inside Suu Inn Village, and the rest exploded outside the village, destroying two civilians’ houses.
On this day, at around 5 p.m., that battalion fired another four shells. Two of them exploded inside Kaw Hlaing Village Hill and destroyed two houses belonging to Saw Shwe Hla Win and Saw Maung Kyan Yit.
The junta camps frequently fire heavy artillery shells at villages in Thaton Township, causing 382 civilians to attempt to flee to a safe place.
Also, on January 8 at around 8:25 p.m., the junta artillery battalion 206 fired seven artillery shells, and on January 9, the junta artillery battalions 402 and 404 fired 12 artillery shells.
