MON STATE – The railway road at the entrance of Moe Kaung Village in Thaton Township was bombed, leading to an accident involving one train, according to a source from Myanma Railways.
On Monday (March 18) at around 7 a.m., a train carrying rocks departed from The Phyu Kone Railway Station in Paung Township, heading towards Kali Village in Bago Township. The train, consisting of 14 cars, was bombed at the bridge between 122/3 Miles and 123/1 Miles, near the entrance of Moe Kaung Village in Thaton Township.
The accident resulted in the destruction of the base layer of the bridge and around 20 feet of railway. Two cars of the train derailed, while five others ran off the track, but fortunately, there were no casualties.
“A team with four cars of BDHV, GBHV (L.V) Brake, and railway officers with a T-60 crane have been dispatched from Yangon to address this incident,” said a source.
