NAYPYITAW – The hearing of appeals of the President and the State Counsellor would reportedly continue on July 18.
Undue the pretext of elections, the military council had unjustly usurped state power and indicted the country’s leaders in various sections.
The appeals have been filed at the Union Supreme Court regarding the cases in which the prison sentences were imposed, and the cases have been rehearing since the beginning of this month.
Two years sentences imposed to both President U Win Myint State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi under Section 505(b), Natural Disaster Management Section and the import and export case would appeal on July 18 at the Union Supreme Court.
On July 5 and 12, the rehearing of the election case, the secrecy act case and the helicopter case against the President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi had been reportedly heard at the Supreme Court respectively.
In August, appeals related to Daw Khin Kyi Foundation will continue and up to today, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi had been imposed to 33 years imprisonment with a total of 19 cases by the junta council.
Although both the President and State Counsellor had repeatedly requested permission to meet their lawyers, Daw Aung San Su Kyi was allowed to meet up separately with Thai Foreign Minister so far according to the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information.
Up to today, the Junta Council has issued various articles of accusation and ordered the prosecution of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in a separate building in Naypyitaw Prison, while President U Win Myint has been sent to Taungoo Prison.
