BAGO DIVISION – A father who was detained in Kyaiksakaw prison by barbaric junta council was dead as he was not able to get medical treatment in time, reported by close people of the family. The terrorist junta army captured the father as they couldn’t find the son and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.
The victim was Mr. Khin Soe (66) from Kadut Village of Waw Township. He passed away on the morning of March 6 with the symptoms of constipation, without receiving medical treatment.
“There are many inmates in prison. He is an elderly and had been suffering from constipation. The request to get medical treatment was rejected by prison officials. Yesterday (March 6), the condition was worsen and being sent to Daik-U Hospital but he passed away,” said a person close to family members.
At present, the body of Mr. Khin Soe was not returned to family and the family members were not allowed to see him.
Out of two children, son of Mr.Khin Soe is the member of People’s Defence Organization and wanted to capture by fascist council and the daughter, a CDM Teacher, also have fled for safety.
On April 27, 2023, Nyaungkharshey police station was being attacked and many junta polices were killed. Mr. Khin Soe son was allegedly related to this attack and junta forces raided his home on October 3. As the son was not found, Mr. Khin Soe was abducted instead.
More than 50 local residents were abducted after Nyaungkharshey police station was being attacked, and among them only 30 were released later on. Twenty others were detained and five of them died during the interrogation.
In addition, on May 25 of 2023, the prison officials of Kyaiksakaw brought the political prisoner Mr. Thant Zin Win to interrogation centre and killed there. In June 2023, 37 political inmates were brought out of prison as if the prisoners would be transferring to another prisons and eleven out of 37 were shot and killed, alleging that they tried to run away.
