MANDALAY DIVISION – The military junta troops stationed at Tar Jin Village in Nganzun Township, Mandalay Division, are reported to be beating and torturing the villagers they encountered on the streets on Saturday morning, July 8, as well as breaking into and raiding the villagers’ homes, according to the YGYR-Youth Guerrilla Counter Revolution-NZ forces.
More than 100 junta forces are stationed at the middle monastery of Tar Jin Village for about a year. They are said to frequently abduct, beat, and demand money from the villagers and passersby.
“The junta forces have been moving into and out of the village and do whatever they want. If they return to the village, they check everyone they encountered on the way and beat them and rob them of their money and phones. They also frequently abduct villagers,” said an official from YGYR forces.
At present, it is said that the Tar Jin villagers do not even dare to leave their home and have to reside in their homes with the door closed since the junta troops are currently stationed at the middle monastery.
“Now, junta dogs (soldiers) even break into the houses to make inspections,” said a focal person from YGYR forces.
Last February 20, two junta soldiers stationed at the Tar Jin Village, fled with their weapons, and the military troops in Nganzun Township searched and arrested them with force.
