MON STATE – It has been reported that besides a warrant sub-inspector Myo Thiha was drunk-driving and hit the family of the daughter of the ward administrative officer and opened fire in Thein Zayat town, Mon state, on the evening of July 12. After that, he also hit two women at another place and ran away.
It was known that while the daughter of the no.3 ward administrative officer Than Win was riding motorcycle along with her husband and her child, a white Honda fit driven by the sub-inspector Myo Thiha collided with them at the edge of the Sittaung river, Thein Zayat town at around 3 p.m. on July 12. The victims were injured.
After the accident, the ward administrative officer Than Win arrived and had an argument with the drunk sub-inspector and the sub-inspector left the place by opening fire.
Besides, he nearly collided with a motorcycle at Thein Zayat market junction. He also collided with a motorcycle riding by two women on Thayar Kone road and the women were severely injured, said a Thein Zayat local resident.
“The warrant sub-inspector Myo Thiha was drunk. The ward administrative officer’s daughter and her husband suffered cuts and abrasions. Her child was injured in the cheek. Two women who were hit on Thayar Kone road were severely injured and their motorcycle was seriously damaged. He is infamous. He had accused two students from Ywarlay ward as PDF and slapped, punched and tortured them,” said that local.
After the incidents when he arrived at the police station, he opened fire again. The victims due to his drink-driving were getting treatment at Thein Zayat hospital, the local said.
