KAREN STATE – The junta council recklessly fired heavy artillery shells at Pyar Sakhan Village on the Taungoo-Thandaung Road section in Thandaung Gyi Township on Tuesday (September 5) at around 9 a.m., resulting in the deaths of two civilians, including one child.
The victims were a 9-year-old child and a 52-year-old civilian. “At around 8 a.m., we heard the sound of the attack. Then, junta troops from the 7-mile junta camp fired heavy artillery shells, and the shells landed inside Pyar Sakhan Village. These shells killed a nine-year-old child and a 52-year-old civilian. Two others were wounded, but they are not in critical condition,” said an official of Than Daung Mupoe.
Following the incident, junta soldiers tightened inspections at the Four-Mile and Seven-Mile gates, and Than Daung Mupoe urged the public to remain vigilant.
