MYANMAR – Local residents reported that a member of the administration team in Dahwa Village, Thandwe Township that collected the list of youths to be conscripted by the junta council was killed.
Win Shwe, a member of Dahwa Village administration team was said to have been killed by a group of people at around 1:30 p.m. on March 21.
“It was at Dahwa Village of Thandwe. The residents of the village called him chief. He was a member of the administration team. The other day when collecting the conscription list, he was at the very front. He was cut in the neck and killed the next day,” explained a resident of the village.
Similarly on March 21 around 12:30 p.m., administration officer Myint Swe for Zeekone Village Tract, Thaekone Township in Bago Division and administration clerk Ko Phyo were shot on their way back after collecting the conscription list and Myint Swe died on the spot while Ko Phyo was seriously injured.
“Pyay District People’s Defence Force PPDF Battalion 3601 Company 5 and PDF Battalion 3602 Company 4 joint forces (Nway Oo Maung) Team attacked Zeekone Village administration officer Myint Swe and administration clerk. Administration Officer Myint Swe died on the spot. Administration Clerk Ko Phyo was shot in the stomach and was seriously injured,” said the information officer of PPDF Battalion 3601.
The information officer also urged the junta soldiers, police, Pyu Saw Htee militants, informers and ward/village administrators who are pressuring the people into military service to quickly join the side of the people as they are decisively taking actions on them.
