RAKHINE STATE – The Arakan Army (AA) is engaged in an intense clash against the terrorist junta council near Thahtay Hydro Power Project in Thandwe Township and the junta navy is also firing heavy artillery nonstop, according to local residents.
The battle between AA and the junta forces escalated starting around 9 a.m. on April 26 with sounds of heavy artillery explosions ringing out constantly. In addition, the navy ships of the terrorist junta council are also said to be providing cover fire with continuous artillery strikes.
“Battle has been intense near Thahtay Hydro Power Project at the Thandwe – Toungup border, around 20 miles from Thandwe Town starting around 9 a.m. and we could hear heavy artillery explosions nonstop. Gunshots can still be heard. The navy of the junta dogs (junta council) is also covering its forces by providing heavy artillery fire,” said a resident.
The terrorist junta council has reportedly stationed and set up heavy weapons at the site of Thahtay Hydro Power Project since around one month ago.
