SHAN STATE – Comrades from the Shwe Ao Revolution Force, based in Myaung Township, attending military training at TNLA, participated in capturing the Thanbo Junta Camp in Nawnghkio Township. One of them sacrificed his life for the country.
On January 3, TNLA comrades captured the Thanbo camp, and the junta council carried out drone strikes while TNLA comrades were confiscating the ammunition. Consequently, Comrade Htun Lin Myat @ Wukong, 21, was killed, and another was hit by bomb shells.
Comrade Htun Lin Myat attended military training at TNLA for seven months. He wanted to gain real-time experience before returning to Central Myanmar Region.
“We faced difficulties in ammunition, so they joined military training in Northern Shan State. He was killed due to junta drone attacks while confiscating the ammunition. TNLA planned to release them, but they chose to participate in battles for around two months to gain battle experience,” said Major Yekkha, a leader of Shwe Ao Revolution Force.
Comrade Htun Lin Myat lived with his grandparents, who are in their 70s. If his belongings arrive in Myaung, Shwe Ao Revolution Force will do good deeds for him and will take care of his grandparents.
“Ethnic group (TNLA) informed us that he was buried at their martyrs’ hill. We also plan to build a grave for him with his belongings and organize a funeral,” said the leader.
TNLA and MDY PDF jointly attacked the Thanbo Junta Camp from January 2 and successfully captured it the next day. During the battle, the comrades detained Vice Colonel Thet Aung and confiscated massive ammunition.
