UNITED STATES – Over 40 Burmese American students from Upward College Summer Scholar Program and team led by Mr. Elaisa Vahnie, the Executive Director of Burmese American Community Institute from Indiana State reportedly visited Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s permanent representative to the United Nations, at his office in New York.
During the meeting, the ambassador greeted them, explained the United Nations related processes and also discussed the Myanmar Spring Revolution with the students.
Mr. Kyaw Moe Tun also called the students the future of the Burmese American Community and requested them to help the Myanmar Spring Revolution and restoration processes as much as they could.
Mr. Elaisa Vahnie said that the ambassador holds an important role in the diplomatic sector of the Myanmar Spring Revolution and that the Burmese American Community Institute will do their best to ensure that the ambassador remains in the U.N.
The visiting team included Executive Director Mr. Elaisa Vahnie, Program Supporter Dr. Bawi Mang Lian, Program Director Lian Sang, MP Mr. Zaw Thein and Program Coordinator Va Chha of the Burmese American Community and students from the Upward College Summer Scholar Program.
