SAGAING DIVISION – The local people said that junta abducted 14 civilians from western part of Moe Kyoe Pyin Village in Sarlingyi Township, as hostage and forced them to wear junta army uniforms then launched an offensive into Pale Township.
The terrorist junta column, after spending the night at Lae Ngyout village in Yinmabin Township, is reported to have invaded Pale Townshiptogether with the abducted hostages on Friday (June 9).
A local said, “The hostages abducted by the junta column in Pale Township include 14 villagers from the western part of Moe Kyoe Pyin Village. Ten of them were forced to wear junta army uniforms at Mone Kyine Village. Around ten more villagers from Thayetkan Village (Yinmabin Township) and Ma Kyae Kan Village (Pale Township) were also abducted. They were abducted while fleeing the conflicts. No one from Mone Kyine Village was abducted as hostage. But junta dogs (soldiers) robbed the phones from a CDM university tutor and a monk in the village.”
The reported junta column was attacked with five mines near the Kokkosu Village, Pale Township and killing three and injuring more than seven junta soldiers.
The column then invaded Mone Kyine Village, carrying the injured soldiers, robbed the gold and money from the elderly civilians sheltering inside the monestry and then many civilians were abducted.
The junta column is currently reported to have reached Pale High School together with injured soldiers.
About eight thousand civilians from Kyaung Than Village, Yoe Village, Thittar Village, Kyaynin Village and Lattaung Village, which are located on the route taken by the junta column, have been forced to flee.
It is said that the IDPs are facing difficulties running away from junta forces because of the continuous rain and the ruination of roads and bridges by Cyclone Mocha.
