SAGAING DIVISION- According to the locals, ten thousand local residents have been forced to flee as battalion 704 under the junta council raided the villages in the southwestern part of Pale township, Sagaing division, and looted the civilians’ properties.
It was known that a column containing around 120 junta council troops, which had slept in Pale downtown, raided Zaung Chan Kone village on the southern part of Pale-Gangaw road at around 7:40 a.m. on June 11 by splitting into two groups and looting the civilians’ properties.
Due to the offensive attack, around ten thousand villagers from Kangyi, Magyigwa, Nyaung Kone, Hpo Jone, Nyaung Kan, Zaung Chan Kone, Kyun Bo Kone, and Kan Pauk villages have been forced to flee, said a local.
That junta council column has currently arrived at Ingyinau village through Zaung Chan Kone, Kyun Bo Kone, and Nwe Shauk villages.
The brutal junta troops that launched offensive attacks in the Pale region are from Yangon-based battalion 704, under the command of commanding officer Naing Zaw Tun.
It was known that every time the fascist troops launched offensive attacks, they looted the civilians’ properties during the vicious attack. The combination of the junta council troops and Pyu Saw Htee militants from Inma Pyu village has faced a food shortage, said the local residents.
When the junta council troops arrived in Pale town on June 10, they released 13 civilians from Moegyoepyin village and Kyaw village in Salingyi township whom they had abducted as hostages.
