MYANMAR – Between the February 1, 2021 military coup and July 2023, the terrorist junta council has committed at least 144 counts of mass murders of at least five people and a total of 1595 innocent civilians were murdered, according to the data collected by the National Unity Government (NUG) Ministry of Human Rights.
It has been recorded that the inhumane junta regime has committed 11 mass murders in 2021, 85 in 2022 and up to 48 in 2023 as of July.
The latest recorded mass murder by the junta forces happened at Sonechaung Village in Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Division on July 21, 2023 where 14 innocent civilians including four minors under 18 years of age were brutally murdered by junta council troops.
The NUG Ministry of Human Rights said that it will do its best to bring justice to the terrorist junta council for the recorded cases and also requested the people to report the human rights violations and international crimes by the junta forces to the ministry.
In addition, the ministry stated that it is working its hardest recording human rights violations and finding justice to bring justice in the transition period to federal democracy and to eradicate how the terrorist junta council is exempt from punishment for its human rights violations.
