MYANMAR – The atrocious junta regime has announced the amnesty of 9,652 local and 114 foreign prisoners, on the morning of January 4, to commemorate the 76th Independence Day.
The terrorist junta council has issued Decree No. 1/2024 on January 4, saying that 9,652 prisoners who are serving sentences in various prisons/detention centers are allowed to have their sentences reduced and released. They will be waived with the exception that the previous punishments will be served concurrently, if they commit the crime again.
Similarly, the junta council announced that 114 foreign prisoners serving sentences in various prisons/detention centers have been deported with reduced sentences.
