MYANMAR – The terrorist junta chief, responsible for countless war crimes, is said to have issued a secret directive to all government departments under the junta council to collect taxes as there are many people who refuse to pay tax to the junta regime.
Terrorist Min Aung Hlaing reportedly instructed at the junta council meeting 6/2023, held in Nay Pyi Taw on November 2, that “as the government works based on the collected tax, the responsible Union Ministries have to make sure to collect full taxes”.
An insider from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Nay Pyi Taw shared, “The instruction was to collect the taxes, saying that it is not just the tax department but all government departments have the responsibility to collect tax. It was sent to all departments. It details that things are not going well now because the taxes are not collected and instructs all departments to help with the tax collection to ease the situation. The instruction was sent in a secret order to all departments directly from the junta head.”
The terrorist Min Aung Hlaing is also said to have ordered the departments to use various methods in addition to legal options when collecting tax such as punishing those who do not pay tax.
