YANGON DIVISION – The junta council announced in its newspaper on Sunday (June 11) that the tax office bombers, the leader and four members of the Brave Eagle group, had been arrested.
The leader of the Brave Eagles Force, Mr. Aung Myin Thu was arrested on June 8 after they had blasted the tax office in Kyauktada Township on June 5.
The Brave Eagle Force was founded in the first week of July 2022 and has done seven detonation missions including the bomb blast at the Administrative Office of Alone Township, the blast at Myaynigone traffic booth in Sanchaung Township, and the bomb blast at Sanchaung Court, as announced by the junta council.
On June 9, before the military council made this announcement, some junta affiliates posted on social media that the leader of Brave Eagles had been arrested.
The Telegram channel of Brave Eagles, which was created on January 14, 2023, announced that their group blew up the tax office on June 5.
In addition, the office of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in East Dagon Township was also blown up as the group mission, stated the Brave Eagles Telegram Account.
The media could not confirm independently if the alleged bombers captured by the junta council are actual members of Brave Eagles Force.
The junta council announced that five employees of the Internal Revenue Service Department and one citizen were injured in the explosion at the tax office.
