SAGAING DIVISION – The junta military court in Indaw, Sagaing is reported to have sentenced two men to life sentence for supplying rations to the People’s Defence Force (PDF).
The two were Mr. Aung Zaw Oo (aka) Zaw Oo and Mr. Tin Myint (aka) A Chauk from Kamni Village in Indaw Township and they were arrest in June, said a representative of Indaw Revolution (IR).
“Because there have been many people arrested, there have been mix-ups. They have been arrested for a while, since June. There have been frequent cases of people getting arrested in town,” said the representative.
A junta propaganda channel said that the two were sentenced on August 15 under section 50 (e) of Terrorism Act and section 124 (c) of the Penal Code.
Section 124 (c) claims “Anyone planning to delay or disrupt, or causes delay or disruption to the procedures of the military or law governing body working for State peace shall be sentenced to a fine and 20 years in prison or a fine and 10 years in prison or a fine.”
Meanwhile, section 50 (e) can sentence to imprisonment of ten years to life sentence as well as a fine.
In Martial Law declared Indaw of Sagaing Division, junta forces have been conducting strict inspections and the junta regime abducted six civilians just in the first two weeks of August.
