MANDALAY DIVISION – The TNLA announced today that the military council fired heavy weapons at the Ta-Ang Army (TNLA) camp in Mogok township, Mandalay division.
It was reported that a TNLA camp in TNLA 2nd Brigade Area, Nyaungon village, Mogok township was fired with small arms and heavy weapons on the night of May 4th.
Infantry Battalion-148 and Infantry Battalion-71 under the Junta Council, fired four rounds of heavy weapons as well as small arms at the TNLA camp in Nyaungon village from Phyu Yaung village but reported that there were no casualties.
On January 11th of this year, with the mediation of China, a temporary ceasefire agreement was signed between the Junta Council Army and the TNLA in northern Shan State. After the cease-fire, the junta council fired heavy weapons and aerial bombardment at the campsites of the North Brotherhood alliance forces.
On April 27th and 28th, a woman in Naungcho township’s Thonse village was injured and her house was damaged due to heavy weapon fire by the Junta Council.
During Operation 1027, conducted jointly by the Kokang MNDAA, Rakhine AA, The Ta-Ang’s TNLA captured more than 80 military council camps and can control the 7 cities: Kut Khaing, Namsan Namkham, Menton, Nammatu Mine Long and Min Ngao.
