December 16, 2023UNITED STATES – It’s been reported that officials from the Department of State of the US had a meeting with the deputy ministers of NUG, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Human Rights on December 15.
U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and U Aung Kyaw Moe, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Rights, and officials of the NUG met the officials from the Assistance for East, South, and Central Asia Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, the Office of Global Criminal Justice, the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, and the Office of Mainland Southeast Asia, Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, led by Allison Laura Peters, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, at the Department of State office in the United States.
Current affairs in Myanmar, the provision of humanitarian aid to displaced civilians, Rohingyas fleeing to neighboring countries, and the current conditions of Rohingyas were discussed in the meeting.
