BAGO DIVISION – An official from Tharyarwaddy District People’s Defence Force (PDF) said that they lured terrorist junta forces into a mine blast by cutting off military communication cables and killed ten junta forces in Okpho Township.
On Monday (April 1) around 11 p.m., Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3802 Company 4, Underground Guerrilla Force Okpho, cut the military communication cables of the terrorist junta council near the river bank at Winthayet Village, Okpho Township.
Then at 9 a.m. the next day, over 20 junta forces came out in foot from light infantry 6 based in Teinmyote Village to fix those cables and were attacked with mines by revolutionary forces between Htanpinkone Village and Winthayet Village.
Six junta forces were killed in said attack and seven more were seriously injured and picked up in three ambulances. It is said that four among the injured died later.
“The underground cable of the junta council that was revealed in the creek beside Winthayet Village was cut last night (April 1) around 11. We know that the junta dogs (junta forces) would show up if we cut that cable so we waited for them after setting up mines on their route. At around 9 a.m., we saw 21 junta dogs coming to Winthayet from Htanpinkone and detonated the mines once they entered the field. The six junta dogs at the front were thrown up into the air and died right there. Seven junta dogs were heavily injured. Soon after the blast, three ambulances came and picked up the dead and injured. We received updates that four among the seven injured also died,” said the official from Tharyarwaddy District PDF.
