KACHIN STATE- Residents of Winemaw Township reported that the Kazu-Dabat bridge on the Myitkyina-Bamaw road was blown up by junta’s mines. The bridge was destroyed and transportation was cut off.
On the evening of May 8, the junta army came and blew up the bridge connecting Kazu village and Dabat village on the Myitkyina- Bhamo highway road. The bridge was damaged due to the mine explosion and cars could no longer pass through. A resident said that it can be assumed that the junta army deliberately destroyed it, mainly to prevent the KIA and the revolutionary forces from coming.
“The Kazu-Dabat bridge on the Myitkyina-Bhamo road was mined last night. The junta army blew it up. Cars can’t pass over it anymore. Motorcycles could have crossed the remaining bridge area. The bridge was severely destroyed in the midway,” said a resident.
As a result of the operations that began on March 7 in Kachin State, nearly 100 military council camps were attacked and captured by the revolutionary forces led by the KIA. The military council destroyed roads and bridges to cut off road connections and transportation, a KIA source stated.
