TANINTHARYI DIVISION – According to people close to him, Mr. Aung Win, who won the 2020 election from the Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei Township electoral constituency, passed away this morning on August 03.
According to those closest to him, Mr. Aung Win passed away as a result of late-stage oral cancer. Mr. Aung Win was approximately 70 years old at the time of his passing.
Mr. Aung Win won the 2015 election as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Amyotha Hluttaw (de jure upper house of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw), representing the Dawei Township Constituency. He also won the 2020 election as the MP for Tanintharyi Regional Parliament, representing Dawei Township Constituency (1).
Mr. Myint San, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation of Tanintharyi Region under the Civilian Government (also known as the NLD Government), passed away in Thailand on May 17 from spleen cancer.
