MYANMAR – According to Myanmar women’s union, more than 3,600 women from all over the country have been abducted during the two and half years of military dictatorship.
This data is based not only on the information from the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) but also on reliable media reports.
Among 3,600 abducted women, 835 women have been sentenced, stated Myanmar Women’s Union.
The numbers of female abductees have been increasing since last July.
19 women were abducted during July, and some of them were accused of writing on social media to defect to the army and police and having ties to revolutionary team members.
In addition to this, women have also been abducted in connection with the explosions.
