SAGAING DIVISION – Mr. Pyae Aung Naing, a leader of Kani Township People’s Strike, said that eight junta troops including a captain died in the battle that happened near Min Ma Village in Kani Township, Sagaing Division.
A coalition of People’s Defence Forces (PDF) attacked about 200 junta soldiers near Min Ma Village on May 14 and 15. Eight junta soldiers, including a captain, were killed in the battle. The dead bodies of the soldiers were burned on May 15, after the cyclone passed.
“The battle lasted for two days. The dead bodies of junta soldiers were burned yesterday (May 15). The junta sources reported that they launched into Kani Township after a detailed investigation three months prior,” said Mr. Pyae Aung Naing.
More than 80 junta soldiers have been killed, and three members of the PDF have fallen in the last five days of battle against the junta troops that have been roaming around Kani Township and Yinmabin Township since May 11, according to the leader of KLG PDF.
The KLG PDF leader continued that as battles continue to intensify with increased forces from the terrorist junta council, there is an urgent need for bullets and munitions and asked for financial support from the people, no matter the amount.
