KARRENI STATE – Ka Nyar Maw Foundation – KNMF official Moriree said that basic football training was provided for the second time for more than a month starting in September, so that the young people who have been away from home while fleeing war for a long time can dream of their future in Demoso Township.
“The goal is to let them know that they can find a way out with their dreams amid the difficulties that are looming and that they have their right to dream. They have been very happy since we told them that they would receive football lessons outside of school lecture time.”
It is said that more than 80 students in middle and high school from an unnamed IDP camp are receiving the football training.
In addition to school work, they also need an outlet for their mind, and to cure the depression that they have been staying in refugee camps for a long time, one-day activities where they sing songs, dance and play games, as well as competitions and award ceremonies have also been held.
According to those assisting the displaced people, there are more than 250,000 people who are fleeing the war in Karenni State, and a large percentage of them are children who are underage and suffering from the effects of war and they need morale support.
