KAREN STATE – According to the Thai news, the illegally installed internet cables in Myawaddy were inspected and cut off by authorities of Thailand.
A joint team of Thai authorities has inspected and cut the Internet cable lines that are illegally connected underground from the Thai side to the Myanmar side in the Myanmar-Thailand border. According to Thai media reports based in Mae Sot, the cable lines were inspected and cut by a joint team of Thai authorities on the morning of June 28th.
According to Thai news media, the illegal underground internet cable lines are connected to casinos in Wanya and Shwe Kokko new towns in Myawaddy District, Karen State, through Phop Phra, Mae Ramat and Mae Sot districts in Tak Province, Thailand.
According to the report, a joint team led by the Tak District Police visited 3 of the 5 locations of the underground internet cable lines that were installed illegally from Thailand to the Myanmar.
Thai authorities have seized and cut off internet cables and related equipment, said Police Colonel Samlik Ekmon at a press conference held at the MAESOT POLICE STATION on June 28th.
According to the Thai authorities, the Tak District Police will continue to conduct investigations in order to arrest those involved in the illegal Internet transmissions.
