SAGAING DIVISION – According to the local residents, the junta council army in Katha city has seized the motorcycles and is asking for 100,000 Kyats as ransom money per vehicle.
According to the local residents, the junta council army has arrested at least 100 motorcycles for three days in a row under the pretext of not having a license, and forced the owners to come and redeem each motorcycle for 100,000 kyats. The motorcycles were carried by lorries to the junta army hill and the owners had to go there to pay the ransom.
After drone attacks on the check point of junta council, the junta forces started capturing motorcycles at the entrance of Katha, near the monastery on the hill and some places in the city starting from August 18 and then, those were taken to the hill base of junta battalion 309 in trucks.
On August 17, the junta check point gate was attacked by a drone and three staff under the junta council were injured. The junta army troops then fired back and two local residents were seriously injured.
