SHAN STATE – An information officer from Shan South Local Revolutionary Union (SSLRU) stated that they have been facing difficulties in buying ration for the force due to nearly three times escalation of commodity price including rice in the southern part of Shan State.
It is said that the exorbitant commodity price has become a challenge even though they have been able to work around the strict control of the junta council to collect ration until now.
“Since commodity prices have multiplied around three times, there are some inconveniences in the fundraising part as well. All the prices of general groceries including rice have risen,” the officer explained.
Currently, one rice sack costs 80,000 MMK, one viss (1.633kg) of edible oil cost 12,000 MMK and one pallet of egg cost 7,500 MMK respectively.
“The prices have climbed impossibly high. As we need ration for the revolutionary union, we don’t have any choice but to buy. We would like to appeal to civilians to continue supporting. If you are willing to donate, please contact SSLRU’s Facebook Page,” the officer added.
The officer also said that they appreciate all the civilians supporting the revolutionary forces during the difficulties of battles, economic crises and lacking jobs that are happening countrywide after the military coup.
In addition, SSLRU once again appealed to the civilians to cooperate with revolutionary forces while traveling through the arduous journey of eradicating the military junta.
