SHAN STATE – The terrorist junta army reportedly carried out artillery attacks into Kyaukme Town in Shan (North) State, killing two civilians, according to locals.
On June 15, at 6:30 a.m., fights broke out in Sa Khan Thar Taung (mountain) and Nyein Chan Yae Kone (hill) in Kyaukme Township. Afterwards, the terrorist junta army continuously launched artillery attacks on Kyaukme Town.
There were explosions at No 7, 8 and 9 wards in Kyaukme Township due to junta’s artillery attacks, and two civilians were killed, and a 14-year-old child was injured.
“The shells fired by the junta army exploded at No (7) Ward. No one was hurt. In Htone Hpoe of No (8) Ward, the shells exploded in front of a residential house and one person was killed. In No (9) Ward, a mortar shell hit the fence of an uninhabited farm. In No (9) Ward, a woman living in a tenant barrack was also killed by a bullet fired by the junta army. A 14-year-old girl named Nang Uam Ning was injured. The fighting is still fierce,” said a local resident.
On the morning of June 25, fierce fights broke out between Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the junta army in Kyaukme, Nawnghkio and Mogoke townships.
