NORTHERN SHAN STATE – An official of the Kyaukme branch of Namkhon Shans Welfare Association and Funeral Assistance Association – Kyaukme said that the fighting is fierce in Kyaukse and that they picked up and buried the bodies of 23 people who died on the road.
On June 27, there was a fierce battle between the terrorist junta council and TNLA coalition forces in Kyaukme. The bodies of 23 people who were hit by bullets during the battle and died on the streets were picked up by members of the Kyaukme branch of the welfare association of Namkhon Shans and the Funeral Assistance Association – Kyaukme.
“Today, 23 bodies were buried in one day. The battle is still fierce. They didn’t die from an air attack, but were caught between the shootings and were killed by bullets. We picked up the dead bodies found on the streets and buried it at once. We didn’t identify them,” said the official of the Kyaukme branch of the welfare association of Namhkon Shans and the Funeral Assistance Association – Kyaukme.
During the battle on June 25th and 26th, the terrorist army’s Nareik Kam camp in Kyaukme Township, Sakanthar, Nyeinchanyay Hill, No. 352 Artillery Hill, Ingyinkaing branch, upper golf course, General Administration Office and police station were attacked and captured by TNLA. The last remaining camps, LIB 501 and 502, are under attack, and if those camps are captured, the entire Kyaukme Township will be liberated from the junta council.
