RAKHINE STATE – It is reported that the soldiers of the 550th battalion who were on board the landing ship No. 1714, which was driving a convoy in the Kyauktaw River, Pauktaw township, Rakhine state, shot and killed Navy’s lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe, who was serving on the ship.
On January 27th, in the Pauktaw area, Soldiers from 550th battalion, who were escorting the landing craft (1714) driving along the Kyauktaw River, shot and killed Special Wheel lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe with a gun. Navy lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe said that the soldiers of the army were illiterate (uneducated). After that, the soldiers of the army’s 550th battalion all shot at him.
During the event, lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe said, “There are many illiterate (uneducated) people in the army, they don’t think very well because they can’t read, they do whatever they want. In the navy, there are only people who can read and are educated. They have the right to drive a vassal at a non-officer level.” As a result, the soldiers of the 550th battalion punched the Navy’s lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe. It is learned that the navy soldiers serving on the ship punched the army soldiers back and fought each other.
During the fight, the soldiers of the Army’s 550th Battalion started shooting at the navy soldiers with the weapons they were holding and there was an exchange of fire. During the shooting, there were people injured on both sides, lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe died on the spot with bullet wounds all over his body. The fact that the army shot and killed 1 navy soldier on purpose was covered up by the senior officials on board the ship and falsely reported to the junta’s military office that the soldiers were drinking and intoxicating each other and fired by mistake.
It is learned that the deceased lance corporal Nay Lin Htwe (Special Vassal Controller/ Wheeler) graduated from the No. (1) Military Basic Training Corps (Phaung Gyi) course and left his wife and child.
